When we say capital city, normally we will refer to some place full of buildings, cars and people. But in the U.S the capital cities 首都 (shǒu dū）are usually those cities that are not normally a big city. For example, the capital city of Michigan is Lansing. But it is 9pm and no one is on the street but us. Don’t be fooled by the “capital” city. It can be nothing there.
